Today in oral questions I raised with the Minister the charges some local residents are facing for sewage disposal. Across Test Valley a number of householders, who are not on mains drainage and own former housing association properties, have been faced with bills of hundreds of pounds per month to have their sewage taken away.
Alongside Cllr Nick Adams-King I am shortly having a meeting with Aster to discuss how we can find a solution to these issues. It seems very wrong that householders, including vulnerable pensioners, can be charged more for their waste water disposal than they are spending on energy bills.
I have asked the Minister to meet me to see if there is anyway Government can help to solve this ongoing problem.
