Bad news this morning about the Southern Water works on Cupernham Lane. They have announced that the failure of the sewer is more extensive than initially thought. Consequently the road will be closed for a further month, taking the closure to the end of April/early May.
Clearly, with work starting on the Braishfield Road/Abbotswood roundabout this is not at all ideal. I have spoken to the Hampshire Highways team who deal with agreeing third party roadworks to ask if the
The full Southern Water message says: "the repair to the sewer is proving challenging and we are going to need to do extensive additional excavations in the road. Unfortunately, this work is likely to take a minimum of another month and the road will remain closed during this time.
I’m very sorry for the disruption and inconvenience caused to local residents and drivers whilst this work takes place. We really appreciate everyone’s patience while we continue this work."
