Cupernham Lane has been closed this afternoon for emergency Southern Water works. The closure is between Fishlake Meadows and Belbins and the road is specifically closed at Treviglio Close (so for Baroona Close you need to access from Fishlake Meadows end).
The information from Southern Water says:
"We are currently attending a collapsed mains sewer on Cupernham Lane in Romsey, close to the junctions of Treviglio Close and Baroona Close. Flows are being mitigated by tankers and overpumping.
Unfortunately, we have had to temporarily close Cupernham Lane this afternoon while we install the overpumping, and a diversion is currently in place. We hope to reopen the road in the next few hours, however, we will need to keep traffic management in place while we work on the repair. These will be four-way traffic lights initially, although will change to two-way lights once we are further from the junction. We’re expecting the repair to take two to three weeks, depending on the findings when we excavate.
We apologise for the inconvenience caused while we’re working to repair the pipe."
