A huge thank you to TVBC's waste and recycling teams who have worked through very difficult conditions today.
All waste collection rounds have completed their normal routes today. The teams have reported most people put their bins out and very many were taking the bins in as the collections passed by.
It was obviously a tough call whether to continue collecting today or not but given that we collect from 10,000 to 12,000 properties every day we felt that not collecting waste and leaving thousands of bins on the pavements full of recycling would have presented other more significant challenges.
Today was a recycling collection, so if you didn't put your bin out then do please hold onto the recycling and wait until your next collection in a fortnight. You are of course welcome to put recycling alongside your bin if it is by that point full, ideally in a cardboard box, for collection then.
