It's been an eclectic day.
Appraising some of my Aspire Adoption Panel colleagues. Then a meeting with Caroline Nokes and representatives of Aster about sewerage treatment plants (more of that in a separate post).
Then off to Havant for Hampshire County Council work. Firstly looking at our new electric gritter, which cuts carbon emissions for gritting work hugely.
Followed by a meeting at Havant Borough Council with my highways colleagues at the request of Cllr Alex Rennie and Cllr Lulu Bowerman to discuss highway works around Hayling Island. Traffic in the area was massively affected by unplanned emergency water works by the Langstone Bridge in September. So a wash-up meeting with Southern Water and Portsmouth Water plc to ensure it doesn't happen again and that plans are made for any future work on such a vital route.
