Twenty is Plenty, so say your conservative candidates. Our Romsey Abbey candidates Joseph Dwyer and Nick Michell are campaigning for the introduction of a 20mph zone in Romsey town centre, so that the town is a safe space for pedestrians and cyclists as well as motorists.
Supported by Cllr Nick Adams-King if elected the pair would press for the enhancements to Church St, Bell St and the Market Place to be extended along The Hundred and Latimer St.
“The Market Place looks brilliant," says local business owner Nick, "it's a shame though that without the same treatment to The Hundred and Latimer St, it seems unfinished. The South of Town Centre scheme provides a fresh opportunity to finish these works. I hope people will support Joe and I as we push for these works to be complete, which we will make a priority of elected in May."
A 20mph zone, covering all the entrances to the wider town centre would ensure the safety of pedestrians and help improve accessibility for everyone.
