If a week is a long time in politics this week has seemed it in particular. We all waited in huge anticipation for PMQs on Wednesday and to discover whether the PM did attend the 20th May event in Downing Street.
Even with masks and late notice on the lateral flow test requirements it was good to see schools go back this week. But disappointing for me when Parliament returned not to be able to get in to the PM’s statement updating the House on omicron and the measures being taken to try to tackle it.

Hello, here's an update on the bird flu outbreak in Sherfield English.
As I mentioned the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) has completed an investigation from the owner of a backyard poultry flock at Sherfield English.
Given my stunning failure to predict a white Christmas I am not going to take up amateur meteorology in 2022, which I suspect will be my only New Year resolution.
I have spent this last week trying to get to my walking goal of 1000 miles in 2021, and clearly left myself too much to do
